More information about our Environmental Efforts
Over the past few years Printing.com has planted 50,000 trees with our partners The Tree Appeal. Creation's staff are pictured here with David Bellamy planting trees. Printing.com are doubling the target and would love your help with the campaign to plant 100,000 Trees for Schools.
To keep prices down we use as few resources as we can. Fewer resources means less waste. We wouldn’t be able to afford to offer you such low print prices if we wasted paper, operated inefficiently or weren’t part of the Printing.com network. The Production Hub team at Printing.com are rewarded for reducing waste and bonuses are paid to anyone in the Printing.com group who has an idea on how Printing.com can work more efficiently. The Environmental Management System has been assessed by BSI and is certified for ISO 14001, the Environmental Standard. This means an independent auditor keeps an eye on the environmental objectives and the progress being made towards Printing.com’s environmental targets.
The paper used by Printing.com is only sourced from well managed forests and this year more of the paper used is recycled and from FSC approved sources. All unavoidable waste paper is compacted and recycled. All other waste is separated into seventeen distinct streams for recycling or reprocessing. The printing plates are also recycled and the chemicals used are disposed of responsibly.
The Forest Stewardship Council is an independent, not for profit organisation established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations and the Chain of Custody, which we are obliged to maintain, means that this can be proven for each batch of paper - from forest to finished product. This means in practical terms print products we produce that are printed on an FSC approved stock can carry the FSC logo.
Please note some printed products do not conform to FSC standards mainly mugs, mouse mats etc. If you want to confirm FSC approved resources are used please check with us when placing your order.
